Time has passed so quickly but it still feels like a dream. Looking at the pictures, my mind goes back to my first time on the Miss North Carolina stage as a Carolina Princess with Stacey Parker. I was so little and the stage was so big. It was exciting, fun, scary and a lot of hard work all rolled up into one. I remember telling Stacey that one day I wanted to be Miss North Carolina (that was before the teen program) and go to Miss America. Dreams really do come true. In a few weeks I will be off on the adventure of a life time, competing at Miss America's Outstanding Teen in Orlando, Florida. I have already had new pictures made, dresses and talent outfits designed for me, been pampered at Details Hair Salon, made travel arrangements, had several congratulations parties, participated in a M.A.D.D. event set up by Jennifer Berry, attended the Miss SC pageant and of course . . . paperwork, paperwork, paperwork.

Yesterday we had to choose my competition position for MAOT. That was sooooo exciting! I had to sign on to the Miss America's website, then call in and wait for NC to come up in the "holding tank". Once NC went current, I had 5 minutes to select my slot. I watched as 40 other states popped up and selected their slot. Just when I thought I would probably be the last state called, NC popped up, number 41! I still can not believe that my number 15 (I picked 15 because that's my age) stayed vacant through 40 other girls. It's like that spot was being held just for me. Maybe it's a sign! I have interview Monday afternoon, Fitness and On Stage Question on Tuesday, Talent on Wednesday and Evening Gown on Thursday. I am extremely fortunate that my Carolina Princess and "Good Luck Charm", Kayla Weeks will be joining me on stage as North Carolina’s National Princess. In closing I want to thank all of my sponsors.
